Go Origami!!

A friend of mine encouraged me to try origami... u know when i get bored, or don have anythin to do. Well, tht pretty much worked its way into my routine today, everything was just so so gloomy at the off, i guess everyone have switched on the holiday mood and celebrating our Malaysian teams win over Indonesia in the AFF last nite. I'm not spared either.. so i just Googled origami and stumbled upon this page http://www.origami-instructions.com

This page has a step-by-step guide for basically every origami there is, everything was just so cute.. makes me think if i cud actually use it to decorate my room =)

So my first attempt was the Origami 8 Pointed Star..

Turned out pretty well, just like the one in the website.... Definitely need more practice though
It's up on my workstation... I need more colourful ones!!!

So the next thing to do now will be to go and get real Origami papers, real colourful ones. Hmm.. maybe i can make some for my frenz too. At least, once i'm gud at it =)

The Journey.. 2010

It's almost end of the year 2010... when i look back at the past 12 mths, i've come to a realization that time waits for no one.. and how, within a blink of an eye your world can be turned upside down. The year started wiv much anticipation as i was in training for 6 mth. Those 6 mth i will consider as the best times and the worst times of my life, but the amount of experience that i have gained cannot be compared to anything, and is definitely a money can't buy deal. Besides, the frenz that i made throughout my training, the people i met, it totally opened my eyes, how complete strangers support each other in times of need, the teamwork displayed to make all our plays and shows and events successful.. and not to forget, the fren we lost, Sheema, u will always be remembered.. Al-Fatihah..

then there's my hse renovation... the most stressful part of my life tis year.. I ask myself, why do we hire CON-tractors?? it's not like we have a choice, do we?? Totally hoping that wiv the coming of the new year i'll be moving in to my new place.. and wiv that, a promise to myself that i'll make 2011 a more fulfilling year for me and people ard me.. Signing off wiv ♥ !!

What a Life!!

It's been a while since i actually updated my blog... well, life has been nothin but unusually hectic for the past month.being in training seriously takes uploads of energy and definitely tests my level of tolerance towards some very ridiculous house rules which may sometime seem too unfair or even just plain retarded... anyhow, i wouldn't say that nothing is gained throughout this period... i've been having some of the best time of my life and try out things i bet not many will have the chance to experience.. so, guess i'm not complaining much now..
Though the journey hadn't been easy, but  guess i survived the 1st month, with the help of frenz who have been more than willing to tolerate my weaknesses and supported me along the way.. heartfelt appreciation to my fellow mates!!.

-----to be cont... havin a lecture now!

One of a kind..

When you say i expect too much from you
do you really understand what i ask for
when you say i ask too much from,
do you know what i wish for..

How can you say that you understand
when you never heard what i said
how can u say you tried your best
when you never seem to have tried at all..

I don need time to heal
to heal i need you
and when i need you the most
you might not have the time
which i do understand for most of the time
and try not to mind
but when too often done
even the strongest of hearts could not bear the hurt
and i wish it was undone..

For love is only one
that gives you tears in a smile
and all the more
when your love is mine..

S.M.I.L.E

What do u see when u look at urself in the mirror...??
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
Is it true that gals, no matter how beautiful u are, constantly remind urself that ur fat or look so awful.. and on the other hand, guys, no matter how less than perfect they are, seem to have an alter-ego of a hunk.. *_*
Well, maybe not, but it never fails to amaze me.. how u look at urself and say to urself every single day influence the way u feel and somehow helps build ur personality. Why are we being so hard on ourselves, why we constantly remind ourselves that we are not as good as our friends, our siblings, our neighbours, or, that lady across the street. We should appreciate what have been given to us, embrace our flaws and work from there to improve ourselves, nobody is perfect. Love yourself, only then you can be loved by others. Speak up when you feel the need to be heard, never let anyone judge you. And if u feel things are not workin out the way u want them to, take a deep breath, look at the situation from a different angle, talk to a friend.. sort it out from there. For every problem, there's a solution, u just need to look in the right direction. Maybe, ur biggest problem might not be that big a problem at all...
I was told, during a motivational talk, that positive thoughts and phrases often builds a positive personality.. so, every morning, when u look at urself in the mirror, tell yourself that today is gonna be a great day and u feel like ur on top of the world, and get set to face anything that comes your way with a S.M.I.L.E. For we only live once, and for once live it the way u want to..

How to Look Younger??

Came across this article on Yahoo!.. it's quite interesting to know how nature has made it's own remedy for most of our problems. Sometimes the best things in life might not be the most expensive ones.. we just need to look in the right direction. Have a look at these 4 foods that will help you look years younger.

1. Sweet Potato Fries
Sweet potatoes are a dynamite source of beta-carotene (their bright orange color is a dead giveaway). Your body converts beta-carotene to vitamin A, a nutrient that helps to continually generate new, healthy skin cells.
I like to turn sweet potatoes into crispy oven-baked French fries. Cut peeled potatoes into ¼-inch strips and spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet coated with oil spray. Mist the fries with oil spray and season with salt, black pepper, or any other seasonings (ground cinnamon, curry powder, and chili powder are all fun options). Bake in a 400 degree oven for 20 minutes, flipping the fries halfway through. I finish my fries under the broiler for 5 minutes to get them extra crispy!

2. Balsamic Carrots
Like sweet potatoes, carrots come equipped with a generous supply of beta-carotene. In addition to its pivotal role in skin cell renewal, beta-carotene acts as a potent antioxidant, sopping up damaging free radicals that accelerate skin aging.
Fend off wrinkles with my recipe for Roasted Balsamic Carrots. Cut 1 pound of peeled carrots into 1/2-inch wedges. Spread the carrots over half of a large sheet of aluminum foil, and sprinkle them with ¼ cup balsamic vinegar, 2 tablespoons minced fresh rosemary, 2 cloves minced garlic, ¼ teaspoon paprika, salt, and pepper. Drizzle the carrots with 1 tablespoon olive oil and fold the foil over to create a tightly sealed packet. Place on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 25 minutes or until the carrots are tender.

3. Spinach Marinara
Spinach delivers a triple of dose of wrinkle-fighting antioxidants: vitamin C, vitamin E, and beta-carotene. All three work in concert to protect your skin from the sun's UV rays so it stays vibrant and healthy.
Make a quick spinach marinara sauce by wilting fresh spinach leaves into a pot of simmering tomato sauce, then serve over pasta or grilled chicken cutlets.

4. Toasted Pecans
Pecans are one of a short list of foods rich in Vitamin E, a nutrient that's vital to skin health. By forming a protective barrier in the cell membranes of your skin, the vitamin E in pecans helps to ward off harmful free radicals and therefore helps to keep skin firm and elastic.
Pecans are delicious on their own, but toasting them makes them incredibly buttery and rich...they're like candy! Spread pecans on an ungreased baking sheet and toast them in a preheated 350 degree oven (or a toaster oven) for about 10 minutes (watch them closely to make sure they don't burn). Enjoy them whole as a scrumptious snack, or chop them up and sprinkle them into oatmeal or low-fat yogurt.

Did you turn off your PC?

Reduce your energy costs and your carbon footprint with one simple act. Join HP’s Power To Change campaign and take an important step toward making the world a greener place, just by turning off your computer at the end of the day.

The truth is that far too many people leave their computers on when they are not in use. In fact, only 36 percent of office desktop users power down their computers when they leave work.1 That can add up to significant energy expenditure and carbon emissions.

These days, many businesses are paying attention to energy costs while also looking for ways to reduce their impact on the environment. By making one small change, we can each make a difference. Simply turning off computers at night can save a company with 1,000 PCs over US$26,000 a year and reduce carbon emissions by 187 tons.2 That’s change that’s great for the environment and your company’s bottom line.
Visit Power To Change to join the effort. There, you can download a widget that reminds you to turn off your computer and computes energy savings for you and everyone participating in the campaign. Engage in a global community of like-minded individuals all making this change for the better. Start today: turn off your computer when you go home tonight. And then—do it again tomorrow.
Spread the word. Small changes can make a world of difference.
