How to Look Younger??

Came across this article on Yahoo!.. it's quite interesting to know how nature has made it's own remedy for most of our problems. Sometimes the best things in life might not be the most expensive ones.. we just need to look in the right direction. Have a look at these 4 foods that will help you look years younger.

1. Sweet Potato Fries
Sweet potatoes are a dynamite source of beta-carotene (their bright orange color is a dead giveaway). Your body converts beta-carotene to vitamin A, a nutrient that helps to continually generate new, healthy skin cells.
I like to turn sweet potatoes into crispy oven-baked French fries. Cut peeled potatoes into ¼-inch strips and spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet coated with oil spray. Mist the fries with oil spray and season with salt, black pepper, or any other seasonings (ground cinnamon, curry powder, and chili powder are all fun options). Bake in a 400 degree oven for 20 minutes, flipping the fries halfway through. I finish my fries under the broiler for 5 minutes to get them extra crispy!

2. Balsamic Carrots
Like sweet potatoes, carrots come equipped with a generous supply of beta-carotene. In addition to its pivotal role in skin cell renewal, beta-carotene acts as a potent antioxidant, sopping up damaging free radicals that accelerate skin aging.
Fend off wrinkles with my recipe for Roasted Balsamic Carrots. Cut 1 pound of peeled carrots into 1/2-inch wedges. Spread the carrots over half of a large sheet of aluminum foil, and sprinkle them with ¼ cup balsamic vinegar, 2 tablespoons minced fresh rosemary, 2 cloves minced garlic, ¼ teaspoon paprika, salt, and pepper. Drizzle the carrots with 1 tablespoon olive oil and fold the foil over to create a tightly sealed packet. Place on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 25 minutes or until the carrots are tender.

3. Spinach Marinara
Spinach delivers a triple of dose of wrinkle-fighting antioxidants: vitamin C, vitamin E, and beta-carotene. All three work in concert to protect your skin from the sun's UV rays so it stays vibrant and healthy.
Make a quick spinach marinara sauce by wilting fresh spinach leaves into a pot of simmering tomato sauce, then serve over pasta or grilled chicken cutlets.

4. Toasted Pecans
Pecans are one of a short list of foods rich in Vitamin E, a nutrient that's vital to skin health. By forming a protective barrier in the cell membranes of your skin, the vitamin E in pecans helps to ward off harmful free radicals and therefore helps to keep skin firm and elastic.
Pecans are delicious on their own, but toasting them makes them incredibly buttery and rich...they're like candy! Spread pecans on an ungreased baking sheet and toast them in a preheated 350 degree oven (or a toaster oven) for about 10 minutes (watch them closely to make sure they don't burn). Enjoy them whole as a scrumptious snack, or chop them up and sprinkle them into oatmeal or low-fat yogurt.

Did you turn off your PC?

Reduce your energy costs and your carbon footprint with one simple act. Join HP’s Power To Change campaign and take an important step toward making the world a greener place, just by turning off your computer at the end of the day.

The truth is that far too many people leave their computers on when they are not in use. In fact, only 36 percent of office desktop users power down their computers when they leave work.1 That can add up to significant energy expenditure and carbon emissions.

These days, many businesses are paying attention to energy costs while also looking for ways to reduce their impact on the environment. By making one small change, we can each make a difference. Simply turning off computers at night can save a company with 1,000 PCs over US$26,000 a year and reduce carbon emissions by 187 tons.2 That’s change that’s great for the environment and your company’s bottom line.
Visit Power To Change to join the effort. There, you can download a widget that reminds you to turn off your computer and computes energy savings for you and everyone participating in the campaign. Engage in a global community of like-minded individuals all making this change for the better. Start today: turn off your computer when you go home tonight. And then—do it again tomorrow.
Spread the word. Small changes can make a world of difference.

Cocktail of Emotions

Have u ever felt like u are at the most happening place in town and yet feel extremely bored.. or when u are hangin out wiv ur best buddies, laughin away but still feel like there's something missing, big time??
Most of us might have felt that way, once in a while, but when u constantly feel that way, u could pretty much be depressed and that requires immediate attention!!

I guess i could relate to that, my mind is somewhere and my heart somewhere else... it's just getting too much to bear when everything is kept inside, bottled up. No matter how understanding we try to be, there's always a fine line that shud never be crossed. Once in a while, might not be so bad we can still brush it off effortlessly, but too much of anythin is never good. Sometimes we have to let it out, speak our mind, and demand some attention from others, esspecially people who are an important part of our lives. The only problem is courage. We tend to wait for the perfect time to discuss an issue, and often dissapointed coz tht perfect moment never arrives, and continue to be hopelessly depressed.

Note to self -  "Do not wait for a perfect moment to come around, create one. Sometimes, to get the attention of others, you have to speak up. Take a deep breath, explain yourself, all the why's and how's or what's, keep a lookout on how things move on from there. Give yourself and others sometime to think about it. Wait and see if anything good came out of these efforts... for better or for worst, I decide the path of my life." (sounds so simple.. but reality bites!!)

Jealousy Is Not Love!

I'm sure everyone have come across or dealt with a certain emotion called 'Jealousy'. Whether it's towards a friend, someone in the family or mainly just towards your significant other. It's one emotion that u just can't stop relating to girls, well, maybe coz it's obvious that some girls (no offence) get all green with envy for all the wrong reason. Many people get the wrong idea that by feeling jealous of someone means they are loving them, well, sorry to break the news, JEALOUSY IS NOT LOVE.. it's actually fear and anger of losing love and it's easy to deal with once you understand the reason behind it and what it's trying to teach you. Here are ome tips on how to control your jealousy... Keep your trust in your guy. It's normal to have friends of the opposite gender, just because they go for coffee or lunch together doesn't mean they are having an affair. Build your own self confidence and respect yourself. Someone with a low self-esteem is more likely to get jealous compared to someone confident. Be optimistic and stop worrying about something that hasn't happened yet, or might not happen at all it's a complete waste of time and energy. Be thankful for what you have. Don't overreact. Get an opinion or two from a close friend, it will help to rationalize your emotions. Don't let your imagination run wild, or you will fail to differentiate between fact and fiction. Always remember that no amount of nagging, monitoring, accusing, snooping, or guarding will prevent your partner from cheating or from you being hurt. Live by the rule to not let a mere case of jealousy ruin your relationship, whatever the issue is, do not jump into any conclusion before getting a clear picture on what's going on.
